Values
Want to find out more about us, what we do, why we do it and the things that we think are important? Then read on to find out about our core values at Redeemer Central
At Redeemer central we want to see a Christ centred city, through transformed communities, by people on mission.
Here is a video that we made in the early days of Redeemer Central. We are currently making a new one, so watch out for that, as we will be releasing it soon!

At Redeemer we have four core values. They are best described as a vertical and horizontal axis
VERTICAL AXIS - Our Relationship with God.
This relationship has two directions; Up and down. We worship God but as we encounter him we also expect that he will encounter us.
HORIZONTAL AXIS - Our Relationship with each other, and with others who don’t yet know Jesus.
Like God we are in community and on mission.
These axes can be best summarised by The Great Commandment and The Great Commission.
The Great Commandment
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Matthew 22:37-39 ESV
The Great Commission
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20 ESV
The onlooking world will respond to The Story that we tell and our mandate to make disciples when it sees a church that loves one other, loves Jesus and those who don’t yet know Him with an extravagant self-giving love. Just like Jesus incarnated into a first century Jewish context, we as His Body are to do the same.
The Word became flesh and blood,
and moved into the neighborhood.
John 1:14 TM
‘What the church is all about is not religion but the form of Christ and Christ taking shape among a group of human beings.’
Dietrich Bonhoeffer
THE COMPONENTS OF THE AXIS
Our axes has 4 components. These should not be seen as separate categories but overlap with each other. For example at Redeemer we can build community together while being on mission

UP - Worship
We were all created to worship. We enjoy and take pleasure in worshiping God as individuals and together as a community.
DOWN - Discipleship
We want to become better disciples of Jesus, becoming more like him in every aspect of our lives. We also aim to have Jesus take shape in our city and in our neighborhoods by making disciples. We want to make disciples of those who are already part of Redeemer Central and those who are not yet part of us.
OUT - Mission
We are a community with a life changing story. It is the story of Jesus Christ. We want to tell that story seeing lives transformed by the radical message of Grace. We also want to promote, enhance, create and transform culture in our places, being a community that is knitted into the fabric of the city becoming the life blood of the place. We do not believe in a geographical sacred place. We believe in Jesus in the office, school playground, art gallery, high street, cafe, library, restaurant, night club, pub and cinema.
IN - Community
Regardless of race, gender, age, sexuality or belief we believe that every person is created with equal worth. We want Redeemer to be a place where genuine life-community is built, both with people who are already part of the group and also those who are not yet part of us.
What do we believe?
We think that the best way to find out more about us and our values is to connect with us at one of our CityGroup gatherings, either on a Sunday morning or a Wednesday night.
