We want our website to be more than just information. We are not interested in a website full of static 'stuff!' We want to create a place packed with dynamic and interesting content - a site you might want to revisit regularly.

We want our website to be an extension of our vision and values - a place of community, conversation, creativity and interaction. The Collective is the place for that. It's here that you will find contributions from many different people, including those who are part of the Redeemer Community and, from time to time, some special guests. You will find things that made us think, laugh, cry, hope, and be challenged. It's a section that will keep on growing - so just keep on scrolling and watch more articles load.

We would love you to interact with us through the site - so make sure to leave your comments!

IN THE CITY // Before Machines

IN THE CITY // Before Machines - Image

Local band Before Machines are just back from tour, with the promise of new material in the works. They are of the indie rock genre, but with pop punk and post rock influences. They've got brilliant energy, both in music and on stage. With off setting, but interesting drum beats, combined with sing-shouty vocals, a hint of synth and a lot of sweat these boys deliver. I'd thought it'd be fun to do a little Q&A with Dan Larkin//drums// and Andy Melville//vocals+guitar// as they've become part of Redeemer in the last couple of months.

Truth be told, I love mexican food. It's one of my food groups. No joke. Nachos is a staple in my diet. You can any and all kinds of vegetables on them and voila, healthy. Mind you, dousing them in guacamole and sour cream cancels out anything with nutritional value in it, but it's better than nothing right?

I thought I would switch it up a bit and talk about something a little closer to home, something that I with my lovely partner in crime, Charis run - book club. I'm really excited about the next 6 months and the next 6 books we're about to read for Red:Books.

IN THE CITY // Communion Belfast

IN THE CITY // Communion Belfast - Image

I'll give a brief overview of what Communion is and then we'll get a little more acquainted with Communion Belfast. Communion began in the summer 2006 in London out of a music+arts venue called Notting Hill Arts Club. It became a community where bands and musicians could get supported and promoted. The concept caught on and there are Communion's all over the country. They've jumped ship and landed across the ocean with the newest endeavor being Brooklyn - hardcore.

IN THE CITY // Frightened Rabbit

IN THE CITY // Frightened Rabbit - Image

Last Wednesday , Glasgow natives, Frightened Rabbit graced the stage of the Empire and put on a solid show. Belfast being the last show on their UK tour, they said other than home, Belfast was one of their favorite places to play. They opened for Death Cab for Cutie almost 3 years ago, in St George's Market, and received a warm welcome, which apparently keeps them coming back.
