IN THE CITY // Napoleon
Friends! Napoleon need your help!
In the last edition of IN THE CITY I mentioned that local band Napoleon were having their EP launch at the end of January. Well, a member of Napoleon sent me a little message asking if we could help them out. For the EP launch they are doing a denim/check/tweed/old interesting fabric appeal. They plan is to make the cd covers out of the used unique fabric. This is where you lovely people come in. I’m sure some of you have unused clothing/fabric laying around the house that you’ll never do anything, so why not donate it to this worthy cause. If you are indeed interested email me //admin@redeemercentral.com// and we’ll arrange to have it picked up. To give the boys enough time to sew all the cd covers I ask that we get the fabric together before the 24th, give or take a day.
I think this is a great idea. Reusing old clothing, and helping out some friends! Everyone wins, and when they get famous you can say you helped them get there.
Napoleon have been described like this, by a good friend ..“Napoleon sound like a bunch of 49’ers, who were headed for the pacific passage, but met punk along the way and never came home.” This is truly a perfect description of the sound of Napoleon. You can check out a few live videos on their website of a gig they did in the Empire. They’re the best mix of gritty blues, dirty alt country, Northern Irish indie, and a splattering of punk. With strong vocals, exceptional musical skill, and great timing they are a must see. They’re 4 great friends playing music together and it shows. They look like they are having the best time rocking out together.
Come and support them, firstly by giving them your old fabric and then secondly by coming to their launch at the Black Box, January 28th.
