Peace through it all

I find it amazing how life can throw us into turmoil due to a phrase spoken. I went to see my Doctor the other day who said “You need to have more tests”. Only 6 words which have put me on a journey of further revelation into more of God’s character. For about 30 seconds I felt utter despair then I felt a voice breaking through saying “You are My child, I am here and have gone before you. Trust in Me” (yes, I did write ‘felt a voice’ - it wasn’t an audible voice).

'Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?" Romans 8:35

What I find incredible is the enormous peace I feel but can also feel in turmoil and numbness - my head is spinning but know the Truth that God is Sovereign over all things and brings comfort to those in need. This doesn’t mean believing in Jesus brings us less challenges in life - how we chose to face them can make our lives different. We always have a choice how to face challenges - curl up in a ball and wish it’d go away or to face the issue with prayer, praise, people and peace.

“We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;” 2 Cor 4:8,9

God hasn’t revealed to me the outcome of the referral for more tests, I just know I’ll be ok. I know God’s Glory will shine through all of this. Whether I’m given the all clear, treatment or returning Home.

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
