Redeemer says ‘Oh Yeah’

September is a very exciting month for Redeemer Central as we have kicked off the beginning of this month by moving from Pizza Express in Bedford Street to the Oh Yeah Music Centre in the heart of Cathedral Quarter for our Wednesday evening gatherings. The Oh Yeah music centre is a former bonded whiskey warehouse in the heart of the Cathedral Quarter. It features a performance space, a drop-in area, office units, a privately-run recording studio and exhibition space. It is an excellent venue and will serve us well over the forthcoming months.

CityGroup usually kicks off at 7:30pm with tea/coffee and lots of chat. There’s a real buzz about the place and it’s great to have time to network, build relationships and greet new people. We have been gathering on a Wednesday evening as a CityGroup for a number of months and are continually being blessed by God’s faithfulness to us and His presence amongst us as we come worshipping, to pray and build community together.

Our heart and passion for this great City of Belfast has been growing week by week and it’s been truly amazing to see people being drawn together from many different walks of life and nations around the world with a passion for God, to plant a church in the centre of Belfast that will reach out into the community and the nation.

I am really excited about the days ahead and over the forthcoming weeks we will be venturing into lots of topics and also working through the book ‘Total Church’ written by Tim Chester and Steve Timmis. This book will take us on a journey of the key principles of church and mission, delving into aspects such as the gospel and community in principle and then looking at the practical outworking of this in our daily lives. What a great way to start off planting a church and building community together by also looking at God’s word and learning how we can apply this to our daily lives.
