Sometimes in journeys

So why did you move here? Is a common question people ask us. Referring to my husband’s post 7 weeks that changed my life...that was our quick call and move to Belfast. Before we came we spoke to friends and church leaders who prayed for us and gave us some good advice. One person particularly said, “sometimes in journeys and doing God’s will it can be a smooth transition, but more often than not their are trials, a wall is placed up in front of you. You need to be sure that you have God’s calling to go otherwise when difficult situation arise you will find it even more difficult to get through them and give up. “

Our initial journey was so smooth we didn’t really have any problems. We thought wow we are the lucky ones.  But that was just the beginning of our journey to listen to Gods call and go, now we are here and having to deal with everything day by day. The initial period of Tim being in Belfast and me still being in Coventry was the easy bit. Since January the wall has got higher, issues with house selling and buying, no job for me, feeling exhausted with pregnancy, getting to know people, the list could go on. I would lie to say we have never had the conversation about going back but ultimately we know we have had God’s call we believe we are here to learn. We have learnt and we are continuing to learn each day.
Slowly by slowly God id breaking down the wall and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank God for a regular supply work for me, house is slowly getting sorted, moving our stuff over, a healthy pregnancy, and building great friendships. I have only been here 8 weeks and feel like I know some of the people more than some others I have known for years. Can I just say praise God for his protection, guidance and answer to prayer.  I know He will never test us more than we can handle a situation. Over the past few weeks when I have been reading the bible, God has been bringing my attention to so many different passages but they all have a very similar theme. They are always about the love of God and how He always protects us and there are no reasons why we ever have to worry about anything.  He is in control. Trust in the Lord.
We have an awesome God.

Lovely article.  That’s top advice about being sure of God’s calling.  Makes all the difference.  PS Can’t believe you’re only here 8 weeks?! Feels like we’ve known you and Tim forever!
