Twenty-one lessons from 100 days

Here are some things we have learnt as we have travelled this church planting journey.

1. God is real and you are not Him
2. Drink deep from the well or die
3. God first, family second, church third
4. Beware – ‘ere be spiritual gypsies
5. The power of legalism is astounding, the scandal of grace is amazing
6. Be secure in your gifting. You are not gifted because you are secure
7. In the economy of the Kingdom God uses idiots like you and me, get used to it
8. Sing your own song
9. Value and honour the gifts in others – even if they are almost as crazy as you
10. Don’t make Jesus into the God that you think you always wished you could have – the prosperity gospel stinks
11. Go in His power not yours
12. Slay the dragon of leadership insecurity daily
13. Never forget – it’s supposed to be fun
14. Jesus wants to save ‘Christians’ too
15. Love your bride more than you love His
16. Honor His bride – if someone doesn’t honor mine it makes me angry
17. Humble is not something you become to meet the standard of a leader but something that God does in you – and yes it hurts
18. Love your leaders and they will love you
19. Guinness is good for you
20. Your kids are not your ministry sideshow
21. The trinity rocks
